This is called a netbook, you know. And by the way, LINUX/UNIX sucks. Just install windows 7. Asus primarily makes gaming laptops, therefore this isn’t their “specialty” laptop.
What operating system are you using?

you can get an external Cd drive, get rid of linux and install windows Xp-7

if you want to use a cd on this computer yu should get a usb dvd drive i have the same computer as you and the dvd drive works awesome

that is a hcsd port standard sized sd cards
well im sorry to say but linux is an open source operating system and is maintained by the comunity… so installing popular software may become difficult… i would have gotten another computer

I LOVE Linux for many reasons. It’s certainly a little bit of a challenge to learn, but if you are very familiar w/ XP/Windows and enjoy playing around w/ a computer, then Linux will be a lot of fun once you get the basics. Your laptop is pre-loaded to make it as userfriendly as possible, just a few things that you are looking to add/change (web cam/flash). Again: Google “Xandros Linux Webcam” and you’ll see tons of postings of ppl who may help you ….

You should now see a new Icon on your task bar/Panel at the bottom of you screen.
4) Now, when you click on that Icon a Terminal window should open(waiting for you to type: uname a)

As I am not too familiar with Xandros, this should work.
1) Right click on your task bar/panel at the bottom of the screen
2) You should see an Add to Panel option, and some sub-options like: Applet, Application
3) Choose Application, and a drop-down list show display. In that list; look for Terminal and click on it.

I dont know what you mean by terminal window i opened up my doc file theres no place to type anything in and i did a search still nothing. its telling me Eee Pc 1.6.1.2-a build 2008 0723 12:10 no linux verzion
